Songer is Chief Nursing
Officer: Lucille E. Songer,
RN, BS is settling in as recently
named Chief Nursing Officer at Athol
Memorial Hospital by the Hospital’s
Board of Trustees. Ms. Songer, a
lifelong resident of the North
Quabbin Region, has worked at Athol
Memorial Hospital’ beginning as a
staff nurse, in 1990. She has served
the Hospital in various capacities
including Nurse Manager of Staff
Education, Nurse Manager of
Performance Improvement and Risk
Management, and most recently as
interim co-Chief Nursing Officer.
Ms. Songer will continue her
responsibilities in Performance
Improvement and Risk Management,
which include leading the Hospital
through regulatory compliance
initiatives and ongoing performance
projects, in addition to her new
role. She completed the RN program
at Greenfield Community College and
received her BS degree from
University of Massachusetts in
Amherst. Ms. Songer has continued
her postgraduate education in the
field of legal and ethical studies.
